The QR Code Medical ID stores essential medical information that first responders can access in an emergency. When the QR code is scanned, emergency providers can see the information stored in the wearer's MedicAlert health profile. The built-in location tracker (AirTag) lets family members or caregivers see the wearer's location, making it easier to respond quickly if they wander or go missing.

Apple AirTags are location trackers that use Bluetooth instead of GPS. They work by sending a secure Bluetooth signal that is detected by nearby devices on Apple's Find My Network. Using the Find My app, you'll see the AirTag's location on a map.

NOTE: AirTags only work with Apple iOS devices like iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

    04

Air Tags are a great options for many because they're:

    • Simple to set up and easy to use
    • An affordable option, especially compared to GPS trackers
    • Durable, water-resistant, and don't need recharging
    • Very effective at location finding in areas where a lot of Apple devices are around
    • Good for kids who might not be ready for a cellphone or smartwatch

Because AirTags are designed to track objects, there are some limitations when using them for other purposes.

    • AirTags are only compatible with Apple devices
    • They work best in populated areas with a high concentration of Apple devices, and not as well in rural areas
    • Compared to GPS devices, tracking isn't live or real time; the location displayed is from the last time the tag connected with a nearby Apple device
    • They don't last forever; the battery will need to be changed in about a year

In terms of privacy and ethics, you should only use the tracker when you have the wearer's full consent. Tracking someone without their knowledge can be illegal.
